File Types for Submission
We work with most types of files, as follows. If you do not see your filetype listed or have questions, contact Joe at Joe@AdvantagePD.com
PDF – High Res (300 DPI), CMYK color mode: This is the absolutely preferred file type to submit for print-ready artwork. All text should be converted to outlines and crop marks applied for images that have bleed. See TEMPLATE section below for specifics on dimensions for SAFE and BLEED areas. Please convert all SPOT color to PROCESS unless we are printing in PMS inks.
Publisher and Word files: We can work with files from these applications. Please be aware that, if you use fonts that we do not have installed, font substitution may occur and the files will not look the same when we open them. It is a good practice to also submit these files in PDF form as well so we can see how they SHOULD look. For a FREE PDF converter, go to www.CutePDF.com. Native ADOBE files: We work with ADOBE Creative Suite 4 (CS4) and can accept all artwork from InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop from this version and down. Unless otherwise discussed, it is always a good practice to outline all fonts before submission, or submit the appropriate PC-based fonts.
JPG: JPG images can be submitted IF they are saved at 300 DPI and in CMYK color mode. Please verify the final size. Please also be aware that JPG files degrade in quality every time they are opened so only freshly created JPG’s should be supplied.
TIFF, EPS, PNG are also acceptable under the right situation. These will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
